Scope

AWWA C200-97 standard covers electrically butt-welded,straight seam or spiral seam steel pipe,6 in. (150 mm)  in nominal diameter and larger,for transmission and distribution of water or for use in other water system facilities,including fabrication of pipe, requirements of welding operations,permissible variations of weight and dimensions,preparation of ends,fabrication of specials,inspection,and test procedures.

Purpose

The purpose of this standard is to provide the minimum requirements for steel water pipe,6 in.(150 mm) and larger,including materials and workmanship,fabrication of pipe,specials and fittings.
