PIPE

Pipe Definition:
Pipes are long, hollow, round objects that are used for a variety of purposes. They can be made from different materials, here in Piping Library we mainly talk about the metal material pipes. Commonly the pipes are used for conducting a liquid, gas, or finely divided solid or for structural purposes. Relative to Tubes, Pipes are mainly produced as per ANSI/ASME B36.10 standard and used in piping systems or structure constructions.
Pipe Specifications.
Pipe standards:
Pipe Materials:
Pipe materials could be many kinds of metals and non-metallic materials. The metal pipes could be in steel, nonferrous metal and various alloy materials. The most common metal pipes are steel pipes.
Pipe Dimensions:
The pipe dimensions have several parameters: Outer Diameter, Thickness,Length and tolerances. The pipe diameters are usually identified by (NPS)Nominal Pipe Size which also called (DN)Diameter Nominal, while thickness are identified by Schedule. These information are introduced in standard ANSI/ASME B36.10. Tubes dimensions usually are told by exact outer diameter and thickness directly. For example: 3″ pipes outer diameters should be 88.9mm, but 3″ tubes outer diameter should be 76.2mm.
